Arts Tasmania is part of the Department of Tourism, Parks, Heritage and the Arts. Arts Tasmania has responsibility for the development of integrated policy and planning for arts and culture in Tasmania. In2Art Creating Careers
Creating Careers in the arts is an Education and the Arts project, managed by Arts Tasmania, working in collaboration with the Department of Education, and assisted by the Australia Council for the Arts, the Australian Government's arts funding and advisory body, through its Policy, Communication and Research Division. In2Art is an exciting and innovative website developed by Tasmanian senior secondary and university students with mentorship support from local media professionals, located at www.in2art.tas.gov.au

Australia Council for the Arts
The Australia Council is the Federal Government’s arts funding and advisory body. It offers a diverse range of funding programs to arts organisations, community groups and individual artists. Tasmanian artists are encouraged to apply.

The Arts Law Centre of Australia is a membership organisation that provides legal and financial advice and referral services along with professional development services for artists and arts organisations across all art forms.

VISCOPY
VISCOPY is the copyright collecting society for visual artists in Australia and New Zealand and is the main point of contact for those wishing to gain copyright clearance for the reproduction of artistic works. VISCOPY protects artists’ intellectual property and related contractual rights and has more than 80,000 artists on its books. www.viscopy.com.au
Australian Society of Authors
The Australian Society of Authors is the professional association for Australia’s authors and illustrators and has around 3,000 members across Australia. An important advocacy body, the Society also sets minimum rates for pay and conditions, publishes books and papers, and offers mentorships and advice for new and emerging writers.

National Association of Visual Artists (NAVA)
NAVA is the peak body representing the professional interests of the Australian visual arts and crafts sector through advocacy, representation and service provision. NAVA also offers assistance through a number of grants, other services and membership. www.visualarts.net.au
Australian National Playwrights’ Centre
The Australian National Playwrights’ Centre is the largest and longest-running play development organisation in Australia. The National Playwrights’ Conference brings together leading Australian theatre artists to work on new plays for the theatre.

Australian Script Centre
The Australian Script Centre collects, catalogues, promotes and distributes unpublished Australian plays and holds hundreds of scripts. Those using their services include playwrights, theatre companies, actors, students of drama and theatre, teachers and academics from all over the world.

Australian Copyright Council
The Australian Copyright Council is a non-profit organisation, founded in 1968. It is assisted by the Commonwealth Government though the Australia Council, its arts funding and advisory body. The Australian Copyright Council aims to assist creators and other copyright owners to exercise their rights effectively; to raise awareness in the community about the importance of copyright; research and identify areas of copyright law which are inadequate or unfair; seek changes to law and practice to enhance the effectiveness and fairness of copyright; and foster co-operation amongst bodies representing creators and owners of copyright.

Australia Business Arts Foundation
The Australia Business Arts Foundation (AbaF) is a Commonwealth-owned company, operating at arm's length from the Government. It is supported by the Commonwealth through the Cultural Development Program of the Department of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts. AbaF's mission is to increase private sector support for the arts. AbaF works with both business and the cultural sector, with the aim of bringing benefits to business, arts organisations and the Australian community. AbaF is not a funding body and does not give or administer grants.

Australian Film Commission
The Australian Film Commission (AFC) is the Australian Government's agency for supporting the development of film, television and interactive digital media projects and their creators. The AFC focuses its efforts on the independent production sector- companies and individuals who are not affiliated with broadcasters or major distribution and exhibition companies.

Playing Australia, Visions of Australia and Festivals Australia
Playing Australia, the National Performing Arts Touring Program, gives all Australians better access to some of the country’s best performing arts across Australia since 1992. The program provides Commonwealth Government grants to companies, producers, venues, presenters and tour organisers to tour performing arts across state and territory boundaries where this is currently not commercially viable and there is demonstrated public demand.
Visions of Australia aims to make exhibitions of cultural material accessible to more Australians. It provides grants to cultural and community organisations to develop and tour exhibitions of historical and scientific material, visual arts and craft, multimedia and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture throughout Australia. Exhibitions should have a predominantly Australian source or theme. Through the program, more Australians have the chance to enjoy our diverse culture and organisations can tour exhibitions interstate to major centres as well as regional and remote areas.
Festivals Australia is a Commonwealth Government cultural grant program which provides assistance to regional and community Australian festivals for the presentation of quality cultural activities. Funding is available to add a really new or special sort of cultural activity that has never been done before and could not be afforded.

Craft Australia
Craft Australia is the national organisation representing professional Australian craft at a national and international level. Formed in 1971 as the Crafts Council of Australia, their particular focus is the creation of sustainable economic advantages for the sector by actively supporting existing markets for Australian craft and developing audiences both here and overseas. Through this, they work towards securing the identity of the crafts in Australia’s culture and economy.
