SAC's major exhibition for 2005 was presented in partnership with Ten Days on the Island.
Isolation/Solitude: Tasmanian Wilderness Residencies celebrates the work of Tasmanian artists who have been awarded Arts Tasmania Wilderness Residencies at Eddystone Light, Maria Island, Lake St Clair, Bruny Island, Highfield House, Cradle Mountain, Sandy Cape, Queenstown and Deal Island.
Inspired by Tasmania's wild locations, this exhibition offers an opportunity to reflect on Tasmania's unique natural heritage and environment at a time when Australia's island state is experiencing an unprecedented level of interest in wilderness areas.
The participating artists work in a variety of media including painting, video, installation, printmaking, photography and sound.
