The Spindle Tree has been in Salamanca Arts Centre for over fifteen years and is a Designer Crafts Co-operative providing an outlet for Tasmanian craft designers who specialise in producing handcrafted knitwear and accessories.

Items are made from natural fibres and are highly individualistic, with members often creating their designs using hand spun and hand dyed wools. A number of the members regularly receive awards at local and interstate exhibitions.

We have a wide range of garments including jumpers, ponchos, cardigans, vests  hats, gloves, scarves, and socks in a variety of sizes from baby to adult.  For that special gift select from a range of shawls, rugs, Tasmanian knitted animals, bookmarks, felt slippers, lace bobbins, lavender pouches, embroidered wool blankets, glass cases, and rocking rams and horse.

We also stock a wide selection of Tasmanian grown wool and wool/natural fibre products suitable for felting, spinning and knitting. Fibres include wool, alpaca, tussah silk, silky merino, mohair, angora in natural shades and hand dyed.
