Art of Christmas
Exhibition in Long Gallery
Presented by The Royal Hobart Hospital Research Foundation and Menzies Research Institute
The Royal Hobart Hospital Research Foundation in partnership with the Menzies Research Institute will again this year hold its annual Art of Christmas art exhibition and auction cocktail party. This event, attended by over 200 local and interstate identities, engages prominent Tasmanian artists who design and donate their work, which is auctioned to raise funds to ensure the continuation of the internationally renowned medical, healthcare and biomedical research currently conducted in Tasmania.
An important part of the Research Foundation's and Menzies' joint mission is to raise the profile of medical research activities in Tasmania, and provide information to the public on the vital role played by good medical research in this State.
In previous years highly acclaimed artists such as Stuart Clues, Tony Flowers, Patrick Grieve, Rebecca Murdoch, Nigel Lazenby, Hilton Owen and Michael Weitnauer have generously donated their time and work to raise funds for this cause and many of these artists and more will contribute to the 2010 event.
