An exhibition by SAC Resident Artist Melanie McCollin-Walker
“To be lost is nothing to fear,
for everything that is lost
is on the path to being found”
– author unknown
“Since moving to Tasmania in 2017, I have struggled at times. Perhaps trying to force the ‘settling in’ period and not letting it happen naturally. I know it takes time, but there is always that in-between phase where you feel completely lost and lacking a sense of purpose or place. The more I struggle to find my way, the further I seem to drift, like an untethered boat slowly floating out to sea. This sense of uncertainty has forced me to delve deeper into my artistic practice, striving to get further lost in my work. Hoping that it will ultimately help me find my way back to solid ground.”
