With special guest Jane McArthur
“Dark Side of Desire is a collection of songs that explore the shadowy mire of love and lust. It captures and attempts to understand the complexity of that which draws people together and keeps them apart.”
– Susannah Coleman-Brown
Now in her late thirties, Susannah’s personal reflections of relationships delve even further lyrically than her previous releases (Fall… 2004, Don’t Run 2012) and her vocal performance has greater warmth, depth and power.
After a successful crowdfunding campaign with over 90 supporters pledging financial assistance to complete this rich, evocative suite of original soul, jazz, blues and folk, there is no doubt the theatre will be filled with those that appreciate the unique intersection of these styles.
As a support performance, Susannah’s Melbourne-based, Festival of Voices 2014 (Back to the Roots) collaborator Jane McArthur will take to the stage with the ensemble mentioned above to showcase her own release Epheramalogica. The night will be an elegant, polished performance highlighting two exquisite singer/songwriters and draw further attention to their respective releases, with copies available for purchase after the show.
