Hidden Beauty, Unseen Worlds.
Inner Landscapes is the first solo exhibition by emerging artist Alana Collins. Her recent series of works on paper explores the forms and structures of rocks, minerals and gemstones. Drawing on the concentric banding of agates and the crystalline structures of precious stones, her intricate and sparkling drawings unearth the hidden beauty of the unseen.
Vulva-esque contours pulse with life, connecting ideas of birth and growth with elements of the landscape often mistaken as inert. The impermanence of being is revealed as solid and ancient rock forms are rendered faint and vulnerable.
Delicate and meticulously detailed, Inner Landscapes invites audiences to an intimate and magical viewing experience – a contemplative remembrance that life is fragile and the plain, wondrous.
