Solo set at 7pm sharp, then later… after-hours nude fist-fight on hot coals between Baxter and Greg Kingston. Who will be crowned king of the pile of rubble left in the wake of that brou-ha-ha? Will anyone be left alive to congratulate the winner and offer commiserations to the vanquished?
Jonathan Heilbron is an Australian double bass player, improviser and composer who works in contemporary classical, improvised, experimental and orchestral music. He is a member of the Melbourne-based Quiver New Music Ensemble, the improvising trio Ellipsis and the experimental trio DRUM and is the founder of the Phonetic Orchestra, an ensemble comprising Melbourne’s most innovative emerging improvisers, composers and performers.
Sally Ann McIntyre
Sally Ann McIntyre is a Dunedin-based sound and radio artist from Hobart, Tasmania. often utilising live radio transmission and the reviving of historic sound-storage formats, her installations and performances are concerned with the cultural and material histories of recording and transmitting technologies, the investigation of buried sonic traces found within the narratives of colonial archives, the inaudible within contemporary ecological soundscapes, and the disorder within the ordering systems of collecting practices. Recent work has been published on the labels and/Oar, Consumer Waste, Flaming Pines, Gruenrekorder, Idealstate, Impulsive Habitat, and winds measure. her ongoing projects exploring the silences of extinct birds and memorial radio broadcast silences have been exhibited in the exhibitions Simulcast (The Audio Foundation, Auckland, 2013), Nature Reserves, (GV Art, London, 2014), Ghost Biologies, (CAT, Hobart, 2016), and Das Grosse Rauschen: The Metamorphosis of Radio, (part of the Radio Revolten Festival in Halle, Germany (2016)).
