An installation by Annie Nichols.
Her background in fashion and interior design has led Annie to create works that occupy quiet interior and exterior spaces.
The seed for this latest work was planted after discovering a box of collected clothing tags. The amount of tags alerted the artist to the amount of clothing we collect in the name of fashion, often purchasing pieces with similar cut and design with the only variation being, colour, pattern and texture.
The juxtaposition of clothing the physical body and visual appearance, although the forms are absent of their wearer , also appear delicately inhabited.
“I view this work as something that envelopes the relationship with the physical body and mood, combined with a common thread of similar design running through all the forms with variations of colour, material, pattern and texture.
The forms appear to float on the surface in visual silence.”
