Calling all installation artists, performers, directors, video artists, writers, sound artists, musicians, dancers, movers, thinkers………
Salamanca Arts Centre is calling for applications for the 2013 HyPe (Hybrid Performance) workshop.
The Art of Risk and Challenge III is a practical, intensive cross-art form performance-making workshop, for practitioners working in any medium.
Deborah Pollard creates an intensive introductory practical workshop on the mechanics of devising contemporary performance. Drawing on her vast experience of devising, directing and dramaturgy, Pollard offers established and emerging theatre practitioners and artists interested in performance an opportunity to explore devising techniques in a hands on way. The workshop will focus on task-based performance, open-ended performance structures and material generation. Participants will be encouraged to devise and present small performance projects as well as seed ideas for future works and collaborations.
The Art of Risk and Challenge III is an opportunity to:
- Collaborate in new ways with diverse artists from different mediums
- Explore ways to devise and create hybrid performance and hybrid arts projects.
- Access critical evaluation, discussion and dialogue between peers, mentors, and professionals.
- Take risks, to discuss and develop ideas in a shared mentoring-based environment.
When: March 17, 2013
Where: Salamanca Arts Centre, Peacock Theatre
The workshop is limited to 15 participants and is by application only. Interested participants are required to apply online by March 1, 2013.
All submissions will be assessed by the Deborah Pollard and SAC staff.
