Rengin Guner is an emerging artist. After 13 years working in international news media she relocated to Hobart with her Tasmanian born husband. This change in environment opened many new creative opportunities. The design skills Rengin acquired from her experiences in the multi-media industry, combined with her awareness of cultural diversities between countries like Australia and Turkey, fuel her jewellery exploration.
“My philosophy remains faithful to my cultural roots while refining my signature style and techniques with influences ranging from Ottoman Empire to vivid Australia, always hammering elegance into metal and stone.’
Space 120 is occupied by a small studio collective of three emerging Jewellery artists – Rengin Guner, Jacqui Renton and Tanja von Behrens. All three artists studied together under the same tutelage at the Tasmanian Polytechnic.
