Melly Frank‘s work is primarily inspired
by meditation and natures law of change.
The only constant in life.
With this in mind, her goal is to create high quality, interesting work that the owner can interact with in some way.
Melly tends to use few precious stones in her jewellery, preferring instead to experiment with numerous metals and materials.
She creates little vessels that house textiles that can be changed by the wearer to suit colour taste changes and mood.
Her Sleeping Stone sculptures were born out of a desire to display her jewellery in a unique way. She loves the idea of her jewellery existing off the body in its own right and being enjoyed just as much when not being worn.
Melly is hopeful that her work may inspire curiosity and creativity and may fascinate the viewer enough to start a conversation.
Melly Frank and her work can be found either in Studio 242, located on Level 2 of the Salamanca Arts Centre or at [spacebar gallery] on the ground floor where she and Lorena Cabezas showcase the work of some of Tasmania’s finest artists and designers.
