SITUATE Art in Festivals

SITUATE Art in Festivals LOGOSITUATE Art in Festivals is a new project designed to support Early Career Artists in the development, presentation and promotion of experimental artworks in festival environments.

Salamanca Arts Centre has partnered with Tasmanian contemporary arts events Dark MOFO and MONA FOMA, multi-arts and multi-cultural Darwin Festival, HARVEST MUSIC AND ARTS, Perth’s FRINGE WORLD, Australia’s WOMAD festival of international music, arts and dance, WOMADelaide and Vryfestival in South Africa to bring you SITUATE Art In Festivals.

SITUATE Art in Festivals gives Early Career Artists the opportunity to take creative risks, develop works of scale, expand their practice and connect with mass audiences across a variety of festivals and sites.

The program begins with a residential interdisciplinary Arts Lab lead by national and international artists and curators to develop and test ideas, followed by a mentoring program with experienced production staff to help realize these ideas, and a commissioning phase to facilitate the presentation and touring of new work.
