Under the influence of advancements in technology, heightened social and environmental turbulence, a revolution in media and a seismic recasting of business and commerce, design and the design industry is staring down the barrel of some monumental change. What threats and opportunities do these changes represent – today, tomorrow and over the next 20 years.

Design Shift will see three industry professionals working in the vanguard of design, strategy, media and cutting edge app development, share their view on the future of the design industry. With dedicated time for an in-depth Q and A session, this is your chance to join in a stimulating discussion about the impacts facing today’s design industry and how we can all better prepare for the shift and embrace the changes.

She is the founder of Blanko – a branding and graphic design studio based in Tasmania – that helps Australian public and private sector projects, businesses and brands get the attention they deserve.

As a brand coach, Christiane is obsessed with helping coaches, consultants and experts build their personal brand and turn their passion into profits.

Christiane has been a speaker for The League of Extraordinary Women, Foundry, Lululemon and The Design Kids. She speaks on personal branding, growth mindset, goal setting and entrepreneurship.

Adam Walker

Establishing Adam Walker Film in 1999, Adam Walker’s studio delivers digital production expertise to commercial, corporate and original content sectors. Operating from Australia’s island state capital Hobart, the studio works with agencies and production companies across local, domestic and global markets.

Over the studio’s two decade existence, it’s creations have been showcased across the globe; with the AWF team having been repeatedly recognised internationally for both creative and technical excellence.

Immersed in a broad spectrum of digital content platforms, ranging from animation to VR/AR/MR, Adam continues to embrace new technologies to aid and extend the pursuit of both the art and craft of digital content creation.

Tom Everingham & Nathan Clegg

Tom Everingham has been everywhere and seen everything. His graphic design practice broadly focuses on creative and professional industries – artists, galleries, architects, engineers and corporates too. Educated at the National Art School, UNSW, and the Institute for Design, he’s spent 20 years working with a diverse clientele across Australia and overseas. Tom taught multiple design disciplines at Foundry, won a slew of national and international graphic design awards, and now he’s part of the creative team at Savage in Hobart.

Nathan cut his teeth on a series of high-profile clients at Red Jelly before making the leap to Savage, where he rides the divide between code and design. Keenly interested in developing new ways to market award-winning art app Procreate, he’s involved in business strategy, art direction, web development, and shooting and editing promotional videos. He kicked off the LearnToProcreate series, and led the design and build of the Procreate Portfolio site. Allergic to “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” attitudes, Nate is always searching for fresh ideas and new approaches.

Drawing on their diverse skill sets, Tom and Nate collaborate to develop the creative and brand strategy for Procreate, along with marketing and education initiatives online and in print.
