The Gus Leighton Quartet/Septet
Live Album Recording

Unfortunately this performance has been postponed.
A new date will be announced soon!

Presented by Gus Leighton Music

On the 14 May 2022, The Gus Leighton Quartet/Septet will be returning to The Founders Room stage to record another live album!

This will also be Gus Leighton’s final PhD Recital at the University of Tasmania!

The band will be playing two sets of music with a mix of original compositions and the music of Lester Young, Stan Getz, Dexter Gordon and Wayne Shorter which Gus has been studying for the past 4 years.

Gus’s original compositions are honest and emotionally charged taking influences from his musical heroes and built upon his experiences, current life and hopes for the future.

Gus Leighton is lucky to be sharing the stage with some of Tasmania’s finest:
Mathew Olivier (Piano)
Sasha Gavlek (Double Bass)
Lawrence Churches (Drums)
Aleks Folvig (Guitar)
David Cavallo (Trumpet)
Joe Weller (Trombone).

Gavin Wolfe (audio) and Matt Griffiths (video) will be working their magic capturing the evening as well.
