Pianist, composer, educator Louise Denson is well established on the Australian Jazz scene. She has issued seven CDs under her own name, including Clean Start [2003 Queensland Sunnie Award: Best Jazz Recording], Flame Tree [2010, Latin Jazz] and Colours of Your Love [2018], which features a 9-piece ensemble with strings.
Louise’s compositions have been recognised at the Queensland Music Awards and recorded by National and International artists such as Bell Award-winning vocalist Elly Hoyt, L.A based Jazz fusion group San Gabriel 7, Viney-Grinberg Duo , Muses Piano Trio, Southern Cross Soloists, and the Queensland Conservatorium Saxophone Orchestra. She has performed at numerous Jazz Festivals, including Montreal, Wangaratta, Manly and Melbourne, together with many other public and private performances.
For this performance Denson has put together a very fine and familiar group of musicians, including a new-comer to Tasmania, brilliant saxophonist Phil Bywater, and the rhythmic muscle of drummer Tom Robb, and in-demand bass player Hamish Houston.
