Recent realist streetscape paintings
created by Greg Ferry
from around the CBD and West Hobart.
Greg Ferry presents several of his realist paintings created in and around his local environment of West Hobart and the CBD. Painted at dusk or late at night, in the fog or rain.
The images created are not an absolute reality rather they are reaching out for something more. The streets take on another life at this time. The muted colours of old Victorian era buildings, rooftops in flickering streetlight are scenes with an impenetrable surface and a solemn poetry. The buildings and streets are whispering softly to those that might listen to a forgotten history and of the weariness of time.
