Object illustrations by studio jeweller
Emily Snadden
Sketch showcases a mass of highly detailed, bespoke jewellery designs and illustrated Tasmanian flora. Emily’s work is highly sought after for its attention to detail and botanical referencing.
“I am driven by the process of design and manufacturing – my practice evolves from a process of specimen collecting in the bush to photographing and sketching prior to creation. My work is a reflection of my personal connection to the Tasmanian highland landscape, which was a backdrop to much of my childhood, and a love for our unique landscape and flora. I hope to capture intricate and delicate details and textures within the Tasmanian landscape. This exhibition has allowed me to indulge my obsession with illustration and design on a much larger scale”
– Emily Snadden
The illustrated flora in this exhibition are endemic to Tasmania and are recurring references within Emily’s designs, the specimens form part of a design tool box which are continually referred to and referenced in both her commercial and exhibition works.
