Salamanca Arts Centre’s
Major Curated Exhibition for 2018

The People’s Library is a contemporary artwork with a uniquely Tasmanian library at its core. Over 150 authors bring this performance library to life through readings, discussions and live events. Throughout September 2018 a groundswell of public telling awaits.

The People’s Library is a holding of 113 new and original books, invited by

The People’s Library has been assisted through the generous support and vision of many individuals and creative networks across Tasmania, including over 180 writers and writing support networks. A Published Event acknowledge the vision and support of commissioning and presenting partner, Salamanca Arts Centre.

This project has been assisted by: the Australian Government through the Australia Council, its arts funding and advisory body; the Australian Government’s Regional Arts Fund, which supports the arts in regional and remote Australia; Creative Hobart (City of Hobart) and through generous support from the Allport Bequest.
