An escaped, pantomime skellington, with an urge for sudden, experimental surgery breaks into the Hallowed Halls of Medicine and runs into a young and beautiful doctor plagued with almost identical passions. Their initial, dubious breakthrough is marred by their violent rivalry and seriously disturbed by the potentially psychotic Pope of Medicine accompanied by his fair and loyal page, Gustav. Wary of the intra-disciplinary battles that always seem to erupt in furthering medical science, the Pope of Medicine pronounces separation and eternal banishment, little suspecting this would only fuel a desperate desire for vengeance upon each other, the Hallowed Halls and everything else. Spurning love and acceptance in an uncaring world, their unbridled fury rages through metropolitan underground and sun-seared Saharan desert, striking the innocent, influencing an unconnected puppet theatre, spawning an army of apocalypse robots, and drawing swarms of cursed ghost insects, to become cannon-fodder for the inevitable cataclysm.
