STENCILLED PRODUCTIONS proudly presents
one of William Shakespeare’s most problematic comedies.
The Taming of the Shrew highlights the battles we all face to find one’s perfect match, so that society will finally accept us. It challenges the inherent dynamics of gender and relationship balance in a way that will have you laughing but also shaking your head.
We admit Taming of the Shrew is one of Shakespeare’s most problematic comedies. Yet we think it’s been too long since it’s been performed on a Tasmanian stage.
It’s time for people to be challenged on their views on how to woo, how to be wooed, and is wooing even respectful?
This Tasmanian production is the directional debut of Katrina Green and will be brought to life by the talented local individuals, Benedicta McGeown | Samuel McGeown | Chloe Harle | Arin Dean | Gabrielle Vavoulas | Bryan Stephens | Peter Brown | Paul McNally | Samuel French.
STENCILLED Productions was created with the vision to support notable charities nationwide by giving a profit share to a charity which reflects the show performed. This season we will proudly be supporting Share the Dignity in the hopes to end period poverty and inequality.
