Total FAIL is a new collection
of composite drawings
by Sydney-based illustrator Patch Sinclair,
which remix themes of androgyny,
consumerism and information overload.
Curated to evoke feelings of desperation and unease in an era of peak capitalism and chaos, these illustrations are brimming with fragments from anywhere. These divergent elements are drawn into delicate watercolour compositions where drones carrying beer, 1:4 scale toy police cars, gender-neutral figures, endangered species and fast food wrappers overlap. Sinclair leaves us asking answerless questions, searching for solutions to crises that are no longer viable – all the while offering vivid colours that promise nothing.
