Lucy Benson is a visual artist and director
known for her distinct and evocative
audiovisual performances, media installations,
projection and moving-image works.
Lucy Benson has toured and exhibited extensively worldwide, including at the British Film Institute, Centre Georges Pompidou and Berlin Academy of Arts. Her practice is marked by an existential approach to technology, identity and perception. The enigmatic aesthetics and rich textures are the result of rigorous experimentation with digital and analogue materials. An ongoing theme in her work is the psychological collisions that occur between landscape/nature, trauma and personhood. She is interested in the in-between states, the merging and processing of real and non-real experiences.
