Through her textile practice Till explores relationships between the illustration of living forms and the creation of printed cloth and functional objects.
Till Julien is a Textile designer. She has worked in the area of art and design over the past fifteen years exhibiting and attending design workshops
in Indonesia, Queensland, New South Wales and Tasmania. She later completed a Bachelor of Fine Art degree, majoring in textile design. Since graduating, she has maintained an active and diverse career that includes being a designer maker, graphic design, stage manager, art tutor, community art project manager, and costume design.
Currently, she works from her studio at the Salamanca Art Centre establishing
Till Designs, a textile design business, creating contemporary hand
screen printed designs, producing fabric and home wears.
Her design philosophy focuses on combining elements from the natural world and placing these forms and patterns into domestic interiors. She often references and transforms symbols, shapes, and forms found in the world around us into innovative textiles and furniture, aiming to produce work with a conscience of sustainability and beauty.
