With nearly a decade
of professional experience,
Fiona Vail‘s photographic journey
has assumed an exciting and varied path.
Fiona Vail spent her early days dabbling in editorial and event photography, before a chance encounter saw Fiona shoot her first wedding in 2011. Since then she has been fortunate to shoot weddings all over Australia. Fiona has had her work featured locally and internationally in print and online. She was named as a finalist two years running in Capture Magazines ‘top emerging photographers’ and received a gold award for her work through the Australian Professional Photography Institute.
After spending five busy years honing her craft in Western Australia, Fiona has recently relocated back to Tasmania.
“My passion started at a young age. My father was a hobby photographer and it was while looking through his collection of black and white film that I felt the spark ignite. Over the past seven years I have travelled extensively. With camera always in hand, I’ve found inspiration through documenting my adventures… capturing cultures, vast landscapes, customs and history. I look to uncover beauty in all places, especially the unexpected. It makes me feel alive.”
